My husband has been telling me that I need to write a book about all of the 80's musicians I've met, either accidentally or on purpose. Since I've never taken the time to sit down and write about my escapades during my younger years, I decided to start a tumblr blog to post the photos of all the bands I've met over the years, tell the stories behind the photos, and share the ticket stubs. Duran Duran has been my drug of choice since 1984, but Depeche Mode and The Cure rank closely behind. I have loved and met many more bands over the years, some popular and some obscure. I was never a "groupie" I never slept with the band or the roadies...my thrill came from finally meeting the bands I idolized after waiting for hours on end, or in some cases, literally bumping into my favorite musicians as they walked down the street or stepped off an elevator. Now you can share my my Un-Ordinary world.
Never, not once. Always a respectful and polite fan girl.
what does a person gotta do to build up the kind of karma that leads to meeting a band member on the street
I don’t know if it is karma, incredible coincidence, or being in the right place at the right time, but it has happened to me on many occasions…Paul Young, Simon Gallup, Kevin Bacon, Jay Aston from Gene Loves Jezebel, A-Ha…all were in different places too, Philadelphia, London, Toronto
